2. Your Privacy is Our Priority

We handle your sensitive information with extreme care. Here’s our promise:

Your DNA Sample: After we complete your test, we remove all identifying information from your physical sample. It may be kept as an anonymous control for future quality checks. If you want us to destroy it instead, just let us know in writing, and we will.

Your Genetic Data: Your genetic information is stored securely, separate from your name and contact details. This allows us to re-issue your report if you lose it. We will never share your genetic data with third parties like employers or insurance companies unless you explicitly tell us to or the law requires it.

 

Your Personal Info: Your name, email, and address are confidential. Only the YourGenes team members who need it to process your sample and create your report have access to it

Research (Only with Your OK): We may ask if you want to contribute your anonymous, non-identifiable data to help with internal research to improve our science and services. This is always optional, and you can say no without it affecting your service.

3. Your Responsibilities:

*   The sample you provide must be your own.
*   You are responsible for keeping your account login information safe.

4. Important Things to Keep in Mind

No Perfect Tests: Like all scientific processes, genetic testing has limitations. While we use the highest standards, rare errors like sample mix-ups or contamination can happen. There is also a very small chance of a false positive or false negative result.

Science Evolves: Genetic research is constantly improving. The information in your report is based on the science at the time of your test. We won't automatically update your report with new discoveries, though we may offer you a new product in the future to learn more.

Limitation of Liability: By using our service, you agree that YourGenes cannot be held liable for how you choose to use your information, or for any incidental, rare laboratory errors, or any indirect damages resulting from your use of the service.

5. What Happens to Your Information if Our Company Changes

If YourGenes is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We will ensure any successor company upholds these same privacy promises.
